The Pieces Are Here…

Works by David Gabbard

David’s drive to create art is directly connected to his childhood desire to build puzzles and create other realities. His artworks are drawn from his own experiences with family, friends and memory. Working with memories from his past, he creates art that is subtle but personal. Images of nostalgia and familiarity become the smaller pieces of a larger puzzle. He offers the viewer not the whole story, but the pieces in the form of visual clues from which they can project their own experiences. The interaction and connection with the viewer is important to the completion of David’s work. His pieces establish a complex narrative of constructed visual elements and reflect David’s desire at a young age to question how do the pieces of the puzzle fit together.
